Your past weekend sounds similar to my last time out in December. On
the plus side for me I only have a one hour drive to a dark site.
This allows my family to send me out by myself. Mike Richmann and I
went to the site and got everything setup and aligned. I managed to
get a 30 minute exposure of M47 and the clouds really moved in
quickly. It was just another night to go back home and get more
sleep. Since that time it is either cloudy or bitterly cold during
the new moons. Later this week the "weather gods" are talking about a
break in the pattern of cold. I guess the winter shots will have to
wait until next year.
