When I had the same problem you face now, I called Epson Technical Service
and they gave me instructions over the phone how to perform a socalled
Power-cleaning. It is many times stronger than the standard cleaning
procedure; in my case it solved the problem. You have to type some sets of
lines in the various colours with your wordprocessor and some commands to
perform the cleaning. I forgot the exact procedure but maybe you could try
to call Epson before starting to dismantle a fine machine. Here in Holland
we have a excellent technical support from Epson.
