Dont write it off completely.  Remove the entire print head and soak the
bottom part of it (where the ink nozzles are) in a dish of warm water.
Don't dunk it so deep that the circuit board is under water.  This way
loosen up the clog and allow the cleaning cycle to blow it out.  Dry it with
a cloth before reinstaling it.  Its worth a try as the alternative is to
have a heavy paperweight on your desk.
