[APML] OT: Canon vs Epson clogging
Hello List:
I have the Epson 820 printer which does a very nice job in making color
prints (as long as time and cost are not considered). However, it has two
problems which has forced me to replace it with my older HP722c printer for
general printing (non-photo quality) tasks. The Epson is extremely slow.
It takes about 4-5X longer in the pre-printing time than the HP and once it
starts it is also slower in making the print (both text and photo).
However, the most frustrating problem is the clogging of the inkjets which
require constant cleaning. I only make about 2 - 3 prints about every 3 - 4
months. Evidently the lack of use results in clogging of the inkjet nozzles
about 100% of the time with the Epson. This is almost never a problem with
the HP. Does the Canon s820 bubble jet printer have a similar clogging
problem to the Epson if used only rarely for color prints, or is it like the
HP that almost never clogs and prints quickly?
