IDA 10K CHALLENGE

Dear IDA Member:

We are very close to reaching the 10,000 member level.  Currently we have
9842 IDA members, so we only need 158 new
members to reach the 10K goal.  We want to announce our 10,000th member at
the upcoming Annual Meeting but we only
have a little time left to get there.  With your help, we can do it!

The following challenge is issued the IDA membership:

INCREASE IDA MEMBERSHIP TO AT LEAST 10,000 MEMBERS BY MARCH 20, 2003.

To the IDA member who brings in the most new members, IDA will award a free
lifetime membership (minimum of 5 new
members). Each IDA member who brings in 5 or more new members will receive a
copy of the book "Light Pollution -
Responses and Remedies" by Bob Mizon.

For a new membership to be included in this contest, a "New Member Form"
must reach the IDA office no later than noon on
Thursday, March 20, 2003, and must be clearly marked "IDA 10K" along with
the name of the sponsoring IDA member. New
Member forms can be found at www.darksky.org/membership/. IDA must reach its
10,000th member for the prizes to be
awarded.

Winners will be announced at the IDA Banquet on Saturday, March 22, 2003.

IDA staff and Board members are not eligible for the contest, but are
expected to lead the IDA-10K CHALLENGE with their
support.

Please note: This contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws
and regulations, and it is void where prohibited or
restricted by law. When you enter the contest, the tax-deductible portion of
your donation is your membership amount minus
$10.00. International members and new members worldwide are welcome to
participate; however, all shipping, handling, taxes,
and custom fees must be paid in advance by the winner. Good luck!
