[APML] Meade framing eyepiece-Parfocal with ST4 ??

Hello group, I picked up a used 25mm Meade CCD framing eyepiece ( has 
illuminated reticle same size as ccd chip). My intention was to use it with 
my guidescope to focus & center a guidestar then remove & install the 
ST4.Their ads mention it is useable with the ST4 through ST8. However the 
instruction sheet that came with it does not mention the ST4- only the 
ST5/5C.
I currently use a 6.7mm eyepiece that I have the barrel scribed for the 
parfocal setting. If I swap it with the framing eyepiece it cannot reach 
focus at  the parfocal setting. I even took the locking ring off but it 
still needs to go in further to be parfocal.
I called Meade & the "two" experts there did not know for sure wether the 
ST4 can be made parfocal with it.
Has anyone used this eyepiece with success? Thank you, Gerry
