RE: [APML] New Epson Scanner



The 3200 dpi is over the full 8.5x11 inch area.  At 48 bit color, you'd better have a LOT of time, and about 5.8 gigabytes of space! (27200x37440x6)  Thats what, 1 image per DVD?   ;-)

Remember that 3200 dpi is the size of the CCD linear array, so that's only going to be 800 dpi on a 4 x 5 inch film image, or 1422 dpi on 120mm film.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Are you saying there's only 3200 pixels in the array total?
