+ Film
Thank you Phil, Rob, & Chris for your
comments. I reworked the image and, hopefully, improved it. You
can check it out if you wish using the link below. I had attempted to
combine the Ha and film data in a number of ways (blending the Ha
& R channels, converting to LAB color and substituting the Ha for L) but
the luminance layering still gave the best overall results. It is hard
to retain the star colors throughout. I may need even more color
data.
By the way, I use a Polaroid Sprintscan 120 (with
glass holder) for all of my scanning.

Tom, terrific nebulosity, I love the color you've
gotten on them, a nice pinky Halpha. The stars are sort of
funny. I cant quite put my finger on it, but they appear either
greenish or black and white or something.
Hello,
I finally had the opportunity to obtain some
photos to add to my Ha mosaic of Central Auriga. This has always
been one of my favorite areas of the sky.
I'd appreciate any comments or critiques
(especially regarding the color balance).
Tom
