Re: [APML] Need some help...

Hi Joe,
Thanks. The target was ngc 2264, the Christmas tree cluster. All I did in photoshop was adjust levels and curves. I'll walk through the link you gave me. If I can find a way to process out the light pollution, I'll be able to more from home (1 night a month at my dark sky site just ain't enough! *L*)
Thanks again,
Don Spencer

Hi Don,
I tend to use a technique by Tom Diana "Correcting for Vignetting" I think it works pretty well, if your not able to get through the other processing techniques, I would give this one a try. I may be able to help you with this one.

It would also help if we knew what the object is in your image and what processing did you perform on it? It looks clipped to me, although it looks much better then the raw image.

Joe Schaefer.

Subject: [APML] Need some help...

Hello folks,
I was hoping you all could help. Last night I spent a few hours on my front yard working out some of the problems I am having (field rotation, focusing, etc...). I am surrounded by lights, so using a deepsky filter, I tested to see how long of an exposure I could take. The following link is one image exposed for 20 minutes.
I was hoping someone would know how to correct this photo in Photoshop 6.0 (I tried using Jerry Lodriguss's instructions, but it seems the gradient tools are different between 6.0 and 7.0 and I wasn't able to understand Matt BenDaniel's antivignetting article). Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Don Spencer
btw...I got the focusing down a little better..  :-)
