[APML] [OT] Privacy issues with APML archives

To all APML'ers (and Gene Horr in particular),
I apologize for this off-topic post and if this has been discussed before:
however I thought, I should point it out.

Tonight I was browsing though APML archives and noticed that on the APML
archives all e-mail addresses are just there for every web spider to pick
them up and use them as potential destinations of spamming. Lately, my old
e-mail address had been bombed with tons of spam e-mails: of course, I
don't blame APML archives only. What if e-mail addresses were somehow
garbled so as to render them "Greek" to all automated search engines?
Yahoo e-groups (and others) offer this service, which is IMO a good idea.

Just my 2 cents,
Emmanuele
