The one I am mostly thinking of is purely size.  A contact print of a
4x5 negative is a nice size print.  A 35mm film has to be enlarged 4X
to get that. 

There is also the fact that you are only developing as much as you
actually use.  I.e., you load a sheet, shoot, develop.  In practice I
can't see developing between each shot.
