Re: [APML] Pentax ME Super camera(Tommy Lim)

Thanks George!

I knew somebody would set me straight on the ME. It's been so long since
mine was functional.... I remember now about the one shutter speed and bulb
working when the batts were out but in it's final fits of rigor, a lot of
the things that were supposed to work stopped working. My recollection was
one of a camera that just siezed whenever the batts were dead.

DEET is a nasty component of observing, especially here in the heart of
Swampland, USA. It's omnivourous abilities are the main consideration in
selecting the paint for the final finish on a 15" fiberglass tube I'm
refinishing for a 30cm f/6 Newt. Whatever I use has to be DEET proof or
else I come home from the session with melted paint all over me, my car's
upholstery and everything else. Probably will use an epoxy based poly or
something.

On the ME the 1/125 sync and B settings are 100% manual and not
batteries are required. They are set by rotating the OFF/A/M/125/B
switch. The shutter curtain is a vertical metal blade shutter.
DEET (the most common type of bug repelant) is nasty to almost all
plastics and you really don't want it on your hands while handling
optics or film.
