The above info was asked by me and answered by Roland at AP.

I did eventually get Losmandy DR-125 rings, which have delrin tips.
The delrin tips were long (3/8inch) so I removed the screws from the rings 
and gound them down with a belt sander. I left about 3/16 inch sticking out 
of the end of the screw. I figured this would reduce the amount of delrin 
that might expand and contract. I have no flexure problems since.
