Hi all,
I'm thinking about scopes for wider fields and shorter
exposures than my current setup (6"f9 refractor, max. field: 2.5x2.9
degrees/Pentax67). If it was available for less than 50% over new price,
the choice would be obvious (to me, that is): the A-P Traveler. Since they
are not available, it seems that the leading candidates are the Tak FSQ-106 and
the TMB 105/650. I seem to recall that the Tak had an objectionable 'hot
spot' ? The TMB requires a field flattener from the shots that I've
seen. Anybody out there have any film shots or links to same for either of
these scopes using medium format?
Also, if there are any other opinions regarding suitable
scopes in the, say 500-800mm f.l. range, with focal ratios 5 to 7, I'd
appreciate hearing about them, especially if there are medium format images that
have been taken with them.
Thanks in advance,
Mike Connors
