Re: [APML] OT: Spam (was: Brian Larmay: You may have a virus)
I never really had a problem with spam till I started joining the yahoo
groups about a year ago and then I got swamped..
It happens to be, my second favorite group,(next to APML), is the yahoo
group, "auroral observing" group.
Im thinking about requesting to them a switch to a mailing list like this
instead of having to worry about more spam attacks and having my email
address open to the world.
After this last episode with the virus being sent to me, Im going to find
any way I can to put an end to this spam thats bein sent to me...its
starting to affect the people around me now.
Does majordomo cost anything?
What are the benefits over groups like yahoo?
-----------
You DO NOT want to unsubscribe or click on any of the links in the
spam email. That only tells them that you exist and you are reading their
crap. You will get even more spam!!
Ive always thought this in the back of my mind that it is just basically a
bait to see if you exist.
I didnt reply for a long time to the korean sender hoping that they would
eventually drop me but it never happened....infact it got worse so I cant
seem to win.
Everytime when Id get one of theyre emails, I would add it to the blocked
messages, but then they keep changing their address those crafty
bast*&^s.....but hten again, if I didnt exist, wouldnt the email just bounce
back to them?
