personal RE: [APML] New Mosaic, M95,M96

Robert,
Great as always.  I ordered Ron Wodaski's book on CCD.  Time to start learning.  Some used ST8s have come up at reasonable costs.  That is my biggest hurdle, the cost of the camera.  I don't want to get into CCD with a small chip.  So I will wait until I can get at least an ST8 size chip.  The ST2000 camera looks like it might be the entry level camera for me if it is priced as SBIG has alluded at less than $4000.  I will have many questions once I start down the CCD trail.  Your work with a few others has really shown me the power of the CCD.  My goal is film like results and I now see that it certainly can be achieved.

One question;  I know Tony Hallas mentioned getting large prints from relatively low resolution CCD images.  What pixel per inch to print size ratio have you found to be acceptable?  For instance, if I have an ST8, how big of a print could I make from that?  Thanks for your contributions.
Jeff

Subject: [APML] New Mosaic, M95,M96

Hi all,
I've created a new mosaic of M95 and M96 using
2 frames from the IMG1024 camera for the background.
This image was then scaled up (registar) to match two high
res images of the galaxies taken with my ST10 earlier in the year.
The mosaic was assembled in photoshop.

Also have a new image of NGC3521 in case my last post was missed.
