Recommendations are *always* welcomed by a novice like me. But what I was
getting at in my note (and failed to convey clearly) was some sort of GEM
basics page... all you ever wanted to know about GEMs but were afraid to
ask... that might have something like the following:

Type                 Capabilities                  Approx. Cost
CG-5               Can support up to xx lbs.               $
CG-7                     "                                 $
Losmandy G-8            etc.


...Or something similar. The links provided by Bert and Steve and Dwight
were great, and led me to many sites that provide that type of info, though
it's not all gathered into one place. I'm compiling all the info I run
across, and I'm learning fast.
