Yes, I was using the SS35+ driver.  I finally got the scanner to work by
downloading the latest version of the software from Polaroid, and then
downloading the latest ASPI version for my SCSI card.

Now my only problem is that my HP PhotoSmart printer isn't supported by Win
XP.
