You can also just get an 8" filter and lay it on the mirror <g>!

Actually, it seems to be a great instrument for astrophotography, one which
I was considering for quite a while before I began drooling over photos of
premium refractors. My friend Aike (www.astrophotography.de) has one too,
and recently posted his first (really good) results taken with it.

But it seems that there are always strange halos around the bright stars in
photos taken with this scope - Aike has them too. Has their origin been
discovered yet? (I remember there being a discussion about it a year or so
ago.)
