Re: [APML] 8" Reflector decent enough for prime focus AP?

deeper pictures with film.
The mount is terrible for astrophotography...yes..you can make it work for
piggyback shots but all in all, its too much work and frustration to use
this spindly thing for astrophotography.
I noticed while guiding through the ep and using the fine adjustments on a
guidstar that the star actually moves in an S shape over and under the
hair...yikes!
It is a good mount for the sum, but it just aint happenin for good trackin.

A better mount and scope for that price range would be the Celestron
CR-150-HD , (http://www.telescopes-earth.com/itempage.asp?RecNumber=336
,which has a better mount and a decent scope. You do have to get optional
drives as with the SVD.
The mount is what makes you or breaks your pics as you probably know
allready.

By the way...$1299.00 for the list price of a CR-150? ....LOL ...I can
almost get a G8 for that!

Good luck,
Brian
