RE: [APML] Anyone use Epson 2450 Photo Scanner?

I bought one a short time ago, and am quite happy with it for standard negs
(daytime). I've scanned a couple of lunar shots and sunpspot shots, but
can't find the box of starfield negatives I put up for safety --- duh!

Since I got the scanner, the weather hasn't cooperated for going out and
getting some new shots. (Saturday cleared up, but the 55-60 mph winds kept
would've made the scope shake! If its clear this evening, I may try to get
some comet shots of Ikeya-Zhang.

It is nice that it can output 16-bit greyscale and 48-bit color (using
vuewscan for the interface), but that makes 120 size scans at 2400 dpi REAL
BIG (~167 Meg!). I'm glad I got a gigabit of main memory in my last
upgrade!

I have read some good reviews of this flatbed scanner which has the
capability to scan medium format negs. It lists for a reasonable $399.
Anyone tried it on any astrophotos?
