Bert,

The two connectors are identical electrically - they do the same 
thing.  They provide different physical connectors just to provide 
diversity I think, that's all.  The terminator switch applies equally to 
both connectors.  For example if the 35 Plus is at the end of the chain 
than you can connect to either connector - it makes no difference.  If the 
35 Plus is in the middle of the chain you just connect both connectors and 
it doesn't matter which one goes where.  Just set the terminator switch 
appropriately in each case.

I have owned my 35 Plus for 5 years and have tried all these things so I 
can assure you that this is the way it works.  To the best of my knowledge 
this applies to any other SCSI device that has different physical 
connectors - they both do the same thing electrically - inside the device 
there is a simple loop-through with the terminating resistors in the middle.
