If you think the 8" is too bulky to pack up, the 11 inch is only going to
be much worse.
Keep in mind that to use the 11" for long exposure deep-sky
astrophotography, you'll be using the wedge. All of that stability you get
using the 11" GPS with the fork vertical as an altazimuth mount is gone
when you put it on a wedge.
As for the 11" GPS being more simple to set up, that's gone too with it on
a wedge.
