[APML] Scope Question
I currently have a Celestron Nextstar 8 8" SCT. I've not gotten an
Equatorial wedge for it yet so I can do astrophotography. I also need a
few other small things. As of now I can mount a Nikon body to it and use
it as a big telephoto.
My question is, before I go buy the wedge, a couple of more eye pieces, the
split viewfinder thingy so you can track during exposure, etc.
What would be a better choice for an astro photography scope. I'm
considering a couple of different things. I like the Nexstar 11" GPS for a
more simple setup and the fact that its held on both sides by the motor
fork. The thing I don't like about it is its heavy. My 8" is too bulky
to pack up, put in the back of the Expedition, drive to darker skies and
play with. But I like the light gathering power of the 8" over a smaller.
If you were buying on a limited budget in the $2000 range, what would you get?
Thanks
Rob
Thanks,
Rob
