[APML] Test of SGBNR

Hi all -

I played around some more with SGBNR this evening and I have to say, the
more I work with it, the more I realize I was wrong in my earlier assessment
saying that it is not much better than BGSmooth. It is far better.

My test image is a single shot of Comet Swift-Tuttle done back in 1992 on
hypered Fujicolor Super G 800 Plus. The image was extremely grainy and I
gave up hope in saving it. That was until tonight. SGBNR has saved the
image.
Below is a link to three images of the comet. The top image has no
smoothing at all, the middle image has a slight smoothing and the bottom
has a heavier smooth applied. The settings I used are found below each
image.

See: http://www.abmedia.com/astro/res/sgbnr-test.html

Also, here is the best I could do with BGSmooth for a reference:

So far, I am very impressed with this program! You have total control over
the image and its totally free.
I welcome any advice or comments.

Chris
