Roland, sounds like you've done a lot of thinking on this already. I wonder
if the GM-8 is able to carry all this tuff. Imaging limit for a mount should
be half its rated capacity. That means for a GM-8 you can't exceed 15
pounds.

The scope, Pentax 67, 300mm lens etc surely weigh in above 15 pounds.

I have a DSBS for my G-11 and it can carry a load like you've described okay
but it has 2x the capacity.

Not sure this helps but I'd be wary.
