Re: [APML] The Pincher - Going Deep - Correction
Thanks to John, Jason and Gary for the nice comments! However, I messed up
my notes on the details of the image. My buddy Richard Payne pointed it out
to me today. If you look at the FOV of the image, there is no way that it
could've been taken with the Pentax 165mm. Instead, Jim and I used the A-P
Traveler @ f/6 and exposed each frame for 75 minutes each. Sorry about that
folks! Wow.....and I'm thinking to myself....how long have I been shooting
the sky........geez.

Hi all,
Here's another film collaboration image between Jim Janusz and myself.
This
one is of the faint reflection nebulas IC4592 & IC4601 surrounding Nu
Scorpi
in the northern pincher of Scorpius. This is one of my favorite
regions....
Faint and mysterious. The inky black skies of NM made this deep image
possible. Total exposure was 80 minutes at f/2.8. I love how the
reflection nebulas are embedded within an even fainter cloud of dust and
reddish emission nebulosity. So cool!
I color balanced it to what I thought was as close to "correct" as
possible.
The whole field is full of very faint blue and red nebulosity creating a
faint magenta haze across the whole frame. A tough one to balance out.
Comments are welcome.
So here ya go... film ain't dead yet. <vbg>
