After a break of several months I am finally getting back
to dusting off this hobby.
I found some photos of the Crux/Eta Carina region taken
February last year with my Canon FD 55mm lens so I figured that it would be good
training to try combining them in Registar and processing them in
Photoshop.
I would appreciate a critical review of the final image
which can be found here:
I am not entirely happy with this image but I think I have
spent far too much time staring at the screen so it is time to put it out there
for review. The image is an average of three frames of 10/15/20 minutes each
taken on FP400F. The basic steps I went through were to:
- Scan in image using Vuescan (Minolta DiMage Scan Dual
III scanner)
- Crop image and tweak black/white points in
Vuescan
- Register and average three images in
Registar
- Black/White points, levels and curves in
Photoshop
The image seems noisy to me but I am not sure any more as
I have been looking at the screen to long and I think I am seeing spots in front
of my eyes.
