Re: [APML] (OT) String theory?

Alan, I missed that show - sounds good! An intriguing alternative view is
presented in a book called Faster Than Light. It is a very unconventional
writing style but the guy's credentials are amazing and he argues his point
well. He argues that the speed of light is NOT a constant and that over the
life of the universe it has changed and thus creates the impression we have
of our universe which is wrong.

Book Title: Faster Than the Speed of Light: The Story of a Scientific
Speculation
Author's name: Joao Magueijo

At Amazon for $17.68. where they say this:

His theory could knock down two solid pillars of cosmology--inflation and
relativity. Not only does his radical notion deserve a trial by fire, it
also deserves a champion like Magueijo, who isn't afraid of the
flames. --Therese Littleton
