I saw that show and found it quite
interesting. The idea of 11 dimensions is pretty mind boggling in
itself, but the possibility of the Big Bang occurring due to 2 members
of one of these dimensions colliding into each other is very heavy
indeed. When you think about it though, provided you can accept 11
dimensions, it makes a plausible hypothesis. Since there has been no
other real scientific theory for the "reason" the Big Bang occurred, maybe
this is the first step in understanding the existence of the universe we live
in. I find it easier to accept the fact that time existed past, and thus
before the singularity, than just saying time started with the Big Bang.
It would make more sense that time has always existed. Now you have the
basis for the "parallel universes" theory. If you can accept all of
this, then the possibility of parallel universes would also make sense.
If we can't accept this, we are back at square 1 trying to explain why our
"Big Bang" was the only Big Bang. Maybe one day we'll know for
sure...only Time will tell!
