Hi Gary
It is a very simple test. Cut out a 52mm ring
(with the 48mm opening) from some black bristol board and slip it up
against a skylight filter on your 105mm. Then shoot a few star trails or
wide field shots, and a couple of the exact same areas without the mask.
Compare the two and see if the vignetting is tolerable. If the
vignetting is very bad, choose which one you will order monday and which
one you will ask for as a gift... :^)
