Lovely shot, with subtle processing. I think the blue channel is fine as it is - a brownish colour arises naturally in this area from the reddening caused by interstellar dust. The M24 and Scutum star clouds, which peek through the dust, look plenty blue to me. My only suggestion would be to brighten the overall background (if it hasn't been clipped), so as to follow the dust lanes further out.
