Re: [APML] Fw: images
Hi Chris,
I'm going to address this to you and all the other APML'ers ... it
doesn't have to be a "tough transition" ... if you are refering to the new
knowledge that you will need to do CCD, I can tell you that it's not that
big a deal ... you already know at least 50% more than a totally raw newbie
starting out in CCD would know ... you have done film. You already know
about histograms and PS and clipping and composition and S/N issues ...
Chris you and I go back a long, long ways ... I am not going to stop
using film ... I would love to get some great E 200 Milky Way shots this
summer ... going CCD is not as big a deal as most people think ... once
you get that first taste of what it can do, believe me, there's no going
back. It will take you places you have never been before, see things that
you have never seen before ... it's exciting.
In fact, it takes a FILM person to trully appreciate what a CCD can do
... downloading 16 bit data right out of the sky is more meaningful to a
film person than to any CCD newbie ... what do they know about being stuck
in an 8 bit world?
I don't know what it is that makes the unknown always seem magnified
... but fear and apprehension have no place in this transition ... rather I
would hope for fascination, excitement, and enthousiasm.
Peace, bro ...
Tony
