I have a question for the group concerning the Output Resolution for scans. I have a Canon 5000F flatbed scanner. I know this is not a great scanner for prints and slides but it's all I have. There is no control of scanning resolution, only output. If I scan in 16bit mode(48bitRBG), and go for a 2400 dpi "output" resolution on a 35mm slide, it wants to produce a file of 540Mb. A 1200dpi "output" scan is around 230Mb. This seems high to me. What size file should I be aiming for with a 16bit scan since I only have control of the "output" resolution? Any advice I can get would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gary
