RE: [APML] Is the Epson 4870 sufficient?

Hello Joe,
I have a landscape photographer acquaintance that uses this for 4x5
print negatives. He believes he gets a cleaner scan with this on grainy
film than with his Imacon. I think this scanner is a very good value.
You might find some of the Nikon 8000ED scanners used at a decent price
since Nikon introduced a new model. At under $400, it appears to be an
excellent value. Let us know what you decide and how the scans look if
you get this scanner.

Best regards,
Jeff Ball

I am new to 6x7, the price to get slides put on a CD is too high. I want
to get my own scanner, is the Epson 4870 able to do the job?.........Joe
