RE: [APML] Konica Centuria super 400
Stuart and John ,
Dont try to inflate my hope and joy , you'll not success ;))
Thanks Chris to take my defense ;)))
John , I understand that the film didnt recorded a lots of stars like your picture , but have to admit that my southern skies , where's the SC , is under the light polution , not strong but just enough to wash some stars !!! What I like from this film is the balance of colors , the nebula are red , pink and blue like I like these colors :) Another aspect that I forgot to mentioned , I used 2 rolls at the same time to take these picture but I dont have a support like here
http://www.robertreeves.com/homeroll.jpg then the 2 rolls drop " near-infront " the film :( and I cant drill a hole ont the holder , it's not my camera :( I'd like to have a holder like this one
http://www.robertreeves.com/rollhold.jpg , if someone know where I can find one at low price , I'm interested :)
I hope Chris that you'll have a better success than me :)
You can see another picture that I took of M31 , 5 minute on the 8"@F1.5 ,
http://astrosurf.com/aurores/M31_schmidt_300.jpg M31 was at ~ 25° above the horizon , I know it's not pefect conditions but the colors , as I said , look good at my eyes , this film is promising I think :)
John , you forgot to mentioned one difference between Fuji SG100 and Konica Centuria , Konica is still available on the market ;))
btw: finaly , we had clouds here then I didnt tried the new Polaroid film ... later I'll.
Clear skies !
Dom :)

Um, Dom, before you get too excited let me give you a comparison. I have a
shot of the same region, using the same equipment. The difference is in the
time and the film. The exposure was twice as long at 10 minutes but the film
was Fuji SG100, 1996 vintage. The effective exposure is half of what you
shot as it is only 100ASA. Compare the images:

The Konica looks like a luser to me. Sorry! Hopefully Polaroid works out
better. :)
