You may want to consider moving your equipment around on you barn door.
By placing your alignment scope at the end furthest from the hinge you
will be able to set the scope up better.
And by placing the camera closer to the hinge you will have a better
lever working for you and it should be easier to turn the crank. That
being said there is a plus side to having more weight on the crank, the
weight will make the arm more stable and dampen vibration quicker.
A tidy looking setup, much cleaner than the first one that I lashed up.
