Hi Eric,

That's interesting information about the barn door mount. You are having 
good success with you methods.

If you want more accuracy to go to longer exposures, you could also build a 
double arm mount. See:

I'm guessing that the scans that Walmart would do would only be 
web-resolution. But if they were high resolution, and you had 24 images on 
a 650mb CD, each one could be 27mb. That would be roughly 2650 pixels per 
inch for the 24mm x 36mm size of a 35mm negative. That would be very high 
resolution.
