Re: [APML] Printer Horror Story

Chris,

Are you referring to the Epson 2000p with pigmented inks?? I have
used one for nearly 3 years and I have prints sitting in our sunroom
with no fade (or no noticeable fade) at all! I think the 2000p is no
longer made - replaced with the 2200, IIRC. I use the 2000p all the
time and I've had excellent results. I'm really surprised that you
are having fade with pigmented inks.

Subject: [APML] Printer Horror Story

| Hi all,
|
| As some of you may remember, I had posted some messages earlier in
the year
| on how my Epson "archival" printer had all its astro prints fade or
turn
| yellow after only six months. Disgusted, we bought a Cannon 9000
series
| printer, thier version of a photo archival printer. That was four
months
| ago. the prints started to turn brown after only two months on
display, and
| after four months, were horrible. Is there ANY printer out there
under a
| grand that my astro images can be printed with and not fade away
after only
| a few months? We display them both on a wall where the only
illumination is
| a north facing window and out of direct sunlight. My album prints,
sealed
| in plastic and in the dark faded out as well. What is an
astrophotograher
| to do???
|
| Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
