I use MBK Team's Aurora Monitor at
<http://www.orion-drustvo.si/MBKTeam/auroramon.html>
Starting from the top you can find out what is happening at the Sun
(X-ray flux, electron and proton flux) that let you know what you can
expect in a few days on Earth.
Next you have diagrams showing Near-Earth solar wind conditions. From that
you can predict what will happen on Earth in an hour or so.
Below that you have maps showing the extent of the auroral oval plus
satellite images showing the oval in real time.
At the bottom are the current measurements of the Kp index. From where I
live (Slovenia, 46N 15E) the Kp must be at least 6 to get photographic
aurora.
I hope you find it useful!
Clear skies!
