Sounds like you might have what are sometimes called "nose and foot
binaries" and we've all got 'em. Dozing off at the guiding eyepiece,
nose hits eyepiece, film records double stars. Voila! I did a 30 minute
guided photo of the California Nebula and 30 seconds before the buzzer I
finally succumbed to the call of sleep and fell forward into the
eyepiece. Woke up pretty well coincident with the buzzer going off. Sigh.
