[APML] AP from a cruise ship?

I'm leaving on my first cruise in a week, headed for Cosumel/Cancun and I 
was wondering if it would be worth lugging some gear to try and do a little 
wide field AP.  I'll have to be back on board by midnight while in Mexico so 
I can't really do much off the ship.  Does anyone know if there's typically 
a darkened deck somewhere on a cruise ship where you might be able to open a 
shutter for 10 - 20 minutes?
I hate to get that far south and not take advantage of it but I also don't 
want to drag around stuff I can't use.
