The 105 f/4 micro is a very sharp lens and great for astrophotos too. A
close look at the photo shows the effects of an f/4 stop at the 47cm minimum
focus distance which results in a depth of field of only 5 millimeters.
Matt's photos appear to have greater depth of field, he must have been able
to use a smaller f/stop which then requires a brighter flash especially for
such a short exposure.
