I think that the orange cast of Juan's rather tasty image is due to the way
some films respond to OIII. I have a shot here
http://members.shaw.ca/astrophoto/n6888.htm that also shows the Crescent as
orangish. My FOV is a bit wider and it shows faint background nebula as a
distinct red colour. It was taken through a Lumicon Deep Sky but I got away
with only 45 minutes of manual guiding.  To me it looks like the orange hue
is due to the presence of some OIII in the Crescent. Nice shootin' Juan!

I think the orange cast is due to the strong emission of this
object in OIII, and perhaps in other yellowish wavelenghts.
In fact, the other fainter nebulae around are more redder.
In my Cepheus photo, the bright nebulae showed a more orange
color, too. I agree with this color rendition, congrats, Juan!
