Answer: A couple of you got it right. A few spotty low-lying clouds accompanied by haze moved slowly through the field of view. The clouds were thick enough to block a star completely. The clouds covered only some of the stars. Because of the shape of the clouds, each of the trails was interrupted differently.
If the roof had been shut or if the lens had been capped, all the stars would have had similar interruptions (measured as angles). The bright blue trail near the bottom was hardly interrupted at all. The only telescope that was in use that night was the one at the bottom of the shot, and it could not move far enough to cover many stars. As far as I know, there were no humans in that building besides me during the shot, and I stayed completely out of the FOV.
I saw the clouds go through the sky that night as I observed in one of the nearby domes.
