[APML] Astronomical Image Enhancement Trial

Howdy,

For several months I've been developing algorithms specifically for 
astronomical image enhancement and I'd like to get your opinion on some early results.

Using Richard's recent M8/M20 image, I have applied my noise reduction, 
sharpening and optimum contrast algorithms on the image.  Please see:

Please take a critical look at the processed image and let me know what you 
think about the techniques employed.  They are quite different from the usual 
methods.

I started with the jpeg image from Richard's web site.  Results are 
significantly better when starting from a raw, unprocessed scan.
