Only a couple of hundred meters. Just enough to have a 13-minute gap in

There were not much clouds at all. I was surprised when I first saw the
bright spike of the eclipsed Sun rising. I was lucky to have a camera with
the 1/1000 s exposure time still working at that time (Carena SX-300, one
of the Minolta clones).

Regarding the light meters in Zenit, George is right. Zenit E does have a
light meter. You can see the camera at the link below:
