Tony,
I walk around Mt Laguna at night to my scope and have been told that there are
lions here as well. I have seen what appears to be their tracks in the day
time. A few years ago a jogger in the more residential area 30 miles north
was eaten by one of these beasts. Maybe the way to deal with them is to make
some noise so you don't surprise them.
