Re: [APML] Sh2-1 (2nd try)
Chris,
Thanks. I have been using a W92 filter for red for a while. It has a
slightly higher low cutoff wavelength than the W25. My thoughts are that
the W92 filter makes very little difference in the final color accuracy
vs. the W25 for objects which are mostly blue and red. Objects such as
the Antares region with strong yellow components will exhibit a color
shift. I could be wrong about this. My main reason for using the W92 is
to go very deep into the h-alpha regions. As such I am trading off color
accuracy for depth. Why wait for an observatory?, the 8" schmidt is
quite light and portable. I look forward to seeing your Schmidt work,
there are more objects than I have time for. Some of the dark nebulae
regions could be very spectacular.
