Have
you tried this in Photoshop?
1. Create a new channel
2. Use the gradient tool to create a gradient that somewhat
matches the gradient you want to remove
3. Go back to the channel you want to modify, if
not the total RGB and choose Select, Load
Selection
4. Adust the levels, curves as desired
I
think there is a whole section of this in Ron Wodaski's book, if you don't
already have it.

Im looking for a
simple to use piece of software that removes gradients and vignetting from
my schmidt camera images with film. Ive tried Maxim DL, and I get
horrible results, and wondered if there is something I can say put a grid on
and it does what it has to do to flatten the brightness of the grid.
Maybe Im overlooking some thing obvious, but doing this in photoshop is a
gamble at best.
